- My Number.
Assign my lifetime personal number (+1 781 648-1500) to the new
call router, so I don't have to teach everyone some new router
number for me. (E.g., my
grandcentral.com number
+1 617 440-4331).
- Parallel Calling.
When someone calls my phone router, ring all of my phones (cell,
home, work).
- Voice Mail.
If none of my phones picks up within N seconds, encourage
the caller to send email, or let them leave voice mail, in
which case it should be sent to me by email, and also available
to me via a web ui.
- Anonymous Callers.
When an anonymous or blocked caller calls, say "Paul doesn't take
block calls, so you can hang up now, or press * followed by Paul's
secret code, or press 1 to say your name". If I don't feel like
taking anonymous screened calls, it could just tell them how to
call back unblocked (vs. letting them announce their name).
(This is not as good as Verizon Call Intercept, which actually
has the ability to "unblock" caller ID if the user chooses.)
- Rings my phone-- "Call from ''Bill Jones'', hang up to ignore,
or press 1 to connect, or press 2 to ban".
- Sleep Time.
From 11pm--7am (for my "current" time zone),
when people call, say "Paul might be sleeping,
are you sure you want to wake him? Press 1 to
instead leave him voice mail, or press 2 to ring
his phone.
- Priority Callers.
Let me use a web-based UI to import my Blackberry/Outlook
contacts, and to mark some as high priority. This contacts will
never get screened.
