They are code writers. I finally got around to reading "The Google Story" by David Vise. Unlike other readers, I found this book mostly to be a kiss-ass yawner. But there were some fun parts. Like the quote from Peter Sealey, who doesn't seem happy about programmers trying to create a company without consulting with "marketing gurus" like him:
